BEER FRIDAY from Peru!

Howdy Badgers,

This week’s beer is not a micro brew, it’s not local and although it’s pretty common in South America it’s a little harder to find in the states.  The beer is Cusquena’s golden lager.

It’s a lighter beer and the first thing through my head was “oh… it’s a Corona Extra in a brown bottle” but I was wrong.  It heads up nice for a light lager and the color is pretty standard for.

As far as flavor goes it has that familiar light and refreshing taste that seems the norm for beers that originate from Central America, South America and the Caribbean.  Unlike it’s regional counterparts it’s a bit more malty which I guess is why it is so popular in Peru.

This beer makes me wish it was July and when the warm weather roles back around I will certainly be looking to try it again.

I give it 4 out of 5 badgers.
